Welcome to Detroit! Get ready to immerse yourself in the Motor City and enjoy the best hostel experience the Midwest has to offer! Hostel Detroit is a non-profit organization and community focused hostel dedicated to being the catalyst for educational and cultural exchange between Detroit and the global community.

We are housed inside a 100+ year old historic and funky building in Detroit’s oldest neighborhood right outside of downtown. Our space was designed with colorful comfort and has everything a traveler needs to make the most of their trip to Detroit. We offer dorm beds, private rooms and individual use full tile showers/ bathrooms. Our focus is on creating a comfortable, clean and safe environment for everyone who stays with us. Our location has a neighborhood feel and it's surrounded by green spaces but is right in the middle of everything Detroit has to offer.

Our staff is made up of locals and travelers. They are here to give the best local suggestions and information in the city. Detroit is often overlooked and misunderstood.. but it is truly somewhere special and we will help you make the most of your time during your visit. We are community focused and obsessed with all of the things that make our city one of the most unique and globally relevant travel experiences in the United States. Detroit brought you Techno, Motown, the automobile, the middle class, the birthplace of the labor movement and so much more. Come and experience it first hand.

We are located in Detroit’s oldest neighborhood, Corktown. It’s just a short walk from: Downtown Detroit, coffee shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, amazing architecture, the riverfront, parks and a thriving music and arts scene. Once the home of primarily Irish immigrants, the neighborhood is in the process of rebuilding, has urban character, young energy, some Irish flavor, historic buildings (such as ours), urban farms, union halls, parks and some of the best nightlife in the city.

CANCELLATION POLICY: 24 hours notice prior to check-in via email for a full refund

WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH. PAYMENT MUST BE MADE PRIOR TO ARRIVAL.
Check-in begins at 3 pm.
Self-Check out before 11 am.
Credit/debit card used must match the government-issued ID of the guest.
Credit cards will be charged the full amount of the booking prior to arrival.
Breakfast is not included.
One person per twin bed.
Two person maximum for private rooms.
Hostel Detroit does not allow pets.

Stays limited to 14 days per year.
