About

Maya Moon Lodge is central to all the villages on Lake Atitlán. We are directly on the lake, great for swimming, crystal clean water, we offer stand up paddle-boarding and free floating tubes. Maya Moon Lodge has a restaurant and a bar on the lake. We have a large 8 bed dorm, with 4 single beds and 2 bunk beds, it has a large balcony with hammocks, great views, hot water shower, lockers and towels. We are about 1 mile from San Marcos Center.

Private Rooms/ Apartments all with balconies and great views, kitchenettes, hammock, desk, hot water showers etc etc.

Great views of the volcanoes and lake, spectacular views of sun and moon rise.!!

Maya Moon Lodge is easily accessible by boat. The public boats stop at our private pier every 20 minutes. We also have a road entrance which is very convenient, tuktuks pass all the time, it’s a 20 minute walk to Tzununā and San Marcos where there are lots of things to do and restaurants and shops.
Small boats (called lanchas) are the main form of transport around the lake.
We offer hot water, WiFi and free drinking water.
We have tubes also free for our guests.
All the rooms have large balcony's with hammocks, the dorm rooms have lockers.
Great hikes to the Tzununa waterfall and other hikes.
We are a 5 minute boat road from Tzununa and San Marcos or a 20 minute walk.
All the villages are easy to access by water taxis and they stop regularly at Maya Moon ( when waved down) it’s so easy to get around the lake.

Good place to rest and relax. The dorm was a bit strange not having any privacy curtains and the lockers were tiny. The location is a major challenge. After 5:30 pm, you’ll need to stay on-site. It’s a 30-minute walk on a dirt road to San Marcos, or a 25q one-way tuk tuk during the day or a 50q at night. Boats are available only from 7:30 to around 5:30pm. Leaving in the early morning is also challenging. If you pay by card the machine adds an additional 4% undisclosed fee on top of the 10%!!

Nice place to stay if you’re looking for a remote and chilled spot. Hard to access anything else and to leave, you have to wave down the boats. Dorms are super basic but all in all a pretty place to stay.
