Lotus Garden Hostel Izmir

Ahmet and Coşku are a couple from Turkey who started this hostel 11 years ago. We have been working a lot since that day. The place we rented had been empty for more than ten years. There was nothing inside the building but some spiders and dust :)

We created this hostel with very good energy. We put all of our passion, care and love in it during the construction. Nowadays, we are serving a clean, comfy and peaceful accomodation for our guests. Our friends and guests call our hostel ' An Oasis in the middle of the city'.



We love nature. We are very sensitive and respectful to our natural surroundings. That`s why we recycle our waste as much as we can. We make our own cleaning material. We don`t use any chemicals for washing the dishes, sheets and clothes. We make our own detergent with natural materials. We use the left over food for our chickens and cats, the rest of is compost for the garden.



One of our guests really insisted on calling the hostel "Eco Hostel". I promised him I would do that. To be honest I wouldn`t prefer the name “Eco Hostel” because nowadays being ecological is a wave and a way of advertisement for businesses. For us it is a must, and communicating with the nature is life style. We are keeping up the way of our ancestors.



*We are in the middle of the city center, 3 minutes from the main train station and the metro line in izmir, Basmane. We have garden full of trees, flowers, a small fountain and a patio which is very cool in hot summer days. The hostel building is a restored antique wooden building, built in late 1830s.



*We have brand new AIR CONDITIONERS in every private room and dorm: They keep warm during the winter and keep cool during the summner. In addition, for some guests who don`t want to use the AC, there are ceiling fans in the rooms.

*EVERY MORNING We serve open buffet home-made, freshly prepared ORGANIC BREAKFAST. (250 TL)



*We have a SHARED KITCHEN, with a fridge for our guests. The kitchen itself has a quite big space and has a glass window in the ceiling which lets in sunlight during the day.



*We also rent bicycles(400 TL), as Izmir's main areas are mostly flat and easy for cycling. There is a bike path next to the seaside. Our reception hours are from 08:30 to 00:00 midnight. Feel free to contact us between these hours and you can always reserve a space via directly reaching us by phone or mail.



*We have a laundry service in our hostel. It is 450 TL.



*We help our guests with traveling advice and help them with using transportation and buying plane-bus tickets.



We are very close to the main attraction areas in Izmir, like Agora ruins (5 minutes walk), Kemeralti open Grand Bazaar area (10 minutes walk), Kultur Park (5 minutes walk), Kadife Kale Castle (25 minutes walk) and famous Clock Tower (15-20 minutes walking) And around the hostel, there are many small streets with old houses and local shopping streets where you can experience local life.



Our rooms have 4 to 5 meters high ceilings and big windows which bring lots of sunlight in. Free WiFi and 24/7 hot water are available.

Our Cherry Dorm is a very big spacious dorm room with 8 beds. There is AC and a dressing cabin and hangs for clothes

The New Rose Dorm is very big dorm room with a garden view for 6 people. Every single bed has its own window, private curtain, electric socket and shelf.
