Enjoy the tranquility and relaxation of Hacienda Venecia, situated in the mountains just 20 minutes outside of Manizales. Transformed from an old coffee pickers’ lodging, our hostel is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and paths amongst the coffee groves and cacao plantations. Our vast coffee fields have a large canopy of native trees and water springs. The region is rich in flora and fauna. The ambient temperature (between 17 C and 24 C all year round) makes a very pleasant stay for our visitors.
The Hacienda Venecia Hostel offers a mix of dormitories, a privates bedrooms and camping facilities. Two spacious and airy dormitories can accommodate 48 guests per room. In the large rooms each bed has a large locker and small compartment with electrical outlets for secure storage of valuables. has two bunk beds and excellent garden views. The privates bedrooms offers a double bed and views across the valley a twin bed and an bungalow, Two shared bathrooms are available. The hostel features a fully equipped kitchen, shared dining area and coffee station. A bamboo kiosk offers more seating areas and facilities for cooking and barbequing. There are many hammocks spread throughout the large garden features a fire pit. Camping spaces are available in a private area of the garden and guests may use the board games, book exchange and sporting equipment during their stay.
You can enjoy our activities inside the Hacienda such as Coffee Tour, Cacao Workshop, Birdwatching for Begginers, Rum Experience, Coffee Brewing Methods or Plantain Workshop and outside the Hacienda like Los Nevados Tour.
We also have a wifi network so you can book your next destination in Colombia.
Coming to our Hacienda is really easy. If you come from Manizales You must take the route to San Peregrino of the Socubuses Company. You can check the schedules on the website www.socobuses.com You must get off at the pedestrian bridge and cross it. Once you are at the Las Palmas restaurant, contact us and we will pick you up.
If you come from Medellín, you can go to the South bus station in Medellín, look for Empresa Arauca Bus Company and take a bus to Manizales, Let the person at the ticket office that you go to Hacienda Venecia and ask the driver to drop you off at the San Peregrino Pedestrian Bridge. Once there give us a message/call and we will send a car to pick you up.
If you come from Salento, take a public bus from Salento to Pereira´s bus station. Once you´re there, find Empresa Arauca and take a bus to Manizales, ask the driver to drop you off at the San Peregrino Pedestrian Bridge. Once there give us a message/call and we will send a car to pick you up.
