Stay on a traditional Colombian coffee farm in the heart of the Coffee Cultural Landscape.

Surrounded by coffee plantations, gardens and spectacular mountain landscapes, Hacienda Venecia Hostel is a unique place to experience Colombian coffee culture from the inside.

Hacienda Venecia is a traditional coffee farm with more than 100 years of history, located just 20 minutes from Manizales, approximately 1 hour from Pereira and 4 hours from Medellín by car. The farm is part of Colombia’s Coffee Cultural Landscape and is still a working coffee farm, where coffee is grown, harvested and processed.

Our Hostel is ideal for independent travelers, backpackers and anyone looking to connect with nature, meet other travelers and experience the rhythm of life on a Colombian coffee farm.

Stay your way

The Hostel offers a combination of private rooms, shared dormitories, camping spaces and facilities for overland travelers.
Our private options include:

• Double Room: a room that can be configured with one double bed or two single beds.
• Small Double Room: a private room with one double bed.
• Bungalow: an independent accommodation with one double bed.

For travelers who enjoy meeting other guests, the Hostel has two shared dormitories, each with four bunk beds and a total of eight individual beds. Each bed has a large locker and a small compartment with electrical outlets, providing convenient and secure storage for personal belongings.

All Hostel accommodations share the same bathrooms, which are located outside the rooms and include showers and toilets.

Shared spaces and food

The Hostel has two fully equipped shared kitchens, where guests can prepare their own meals. A mini market is also available within the Hostel for basic food and supplies.

Breakfast is available at an additional cost and should be requested in advance.

Lunch is also available at an additional cost at our Coffee Lodge, located approximately 15 minutes away on foot from the Hostel. Lunch must be reserved in advance, no later than 10:00 a. m. on the same day.

Dinner is not provided by either the Hostel or the Coffee Lodge. Guests are welcome to prepare their own dinner using the shared kitchens.

We also have a pizza oven and pizza kits, allowing guests to make their own pizzas.

The Hostel also offers Wi-Fi, hammocks throughout the gardens, outdoor areas, a fire pit, board games and sporting equipment for guests to enjoy during their stay. Guests are also welcome to use the swimming pool at the Coffee Lodge.

Experience the farm

Staying at Hacienda Venecia is about more than simply having a place to sleep.

You can explore the farm and discover Colombian coffee through experiences such as our Coffee Tour, Cacao Workshop, Beginner Birdwatching, Rum Experience, Coffee Brewing Methods and Plantain Workshop.

The farm is surrounded by native trees, water springs, coffee plantations and abundant wildlife, making it a wonderful place to slow down and enjoy the landscape.

Hacienda Venecia is also a great base for exploring the region, with destinations and experiences around Manizales, the Coffee Cultural Landscape, Los Nevados National Natural Park, Salento, the Cocora Valley, orchid farms and much more.

Getting here

Hacienda Venecia is located in a rural area, but getting here by public transportation is easy.

From Manizales:
Take a bus towards San Peregrino. Tell the driver that you need to get off at the San Peregrino pedestrian bridge on the Autopista del Café, near Las Palmas. From there, walk to Las Palmas Restaurant and contact us so we can coordinate your pick-up to the Hacienda.

From Medellín:
Go to Medellín’s South Bus Terminal and take an Arauca bus towards Manizales. Let the ticket office and driver know that you are going to Hacienda Venecia and ask to be dropped off at the San Peregrino pedestrian bridge. From there, walk to Las Palmas Restaurant and contact us to coordinate your pick-up.

From Salento or Pereira:
Take a public bus to Pereira’s bus terminal. From there, take an Arauca bus towards Manizales and ask to be dropped off at the San Peregrino pedestrian bridge. Walk to Las Palmas Restaurant and contact us to coordinate your pick-up.

Our regular pick-up service operates from 8:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m. If you arrive outside these hours, you must arrange private transportation in advance. This private service has an additional cost.

Important information about arrival and reception

Hacienda Venecia is a rural property and the access road does not have public lighting. We strongly recommend arriving during daylight hours, both for a more comfortable journey and to enjoy the beautiful landscape along the way.

Reception and office hours: 8:30 a. m. – 4:45 p. m.
Check-in: from 3:00 p. m. a 5:00 p.m.
Check-out: 11:00 a. m.

You are welcome to arrive at the Hacienda before 3:00 p. m. or stay after check-out at 11:00 a. m. and enjoy the common areas and facilities while you wait for your accommodation to be ready or for your transportation.

However, your room or bed will only be available from 3:00 p. m. on the day of arrival and until 11:00 a. m. on the day of departure, as these are our official check-in and check-out times.

We strongly recommend planning your arrival during daylight hours. Arrivals after 5:00 p. m. are only possible in exceptional cases and must be coordinated with our team in advance. If your late arrival has not been coordinated beforehand, we cannot guarantee that someone will be available to receive you, as the property gates are closed at night.

We strongly recommend avoiding late arrivals whenever possible, as Hacienda Venecia is located in a rural area and access can be more difficult after dark.

If you need transportation to the Hacienda outside our regular pick-up hours, we can arrange a private transfer at an additional cost.

Please note that there is no regular reception service during the evening or at night.

Early check-out: If you need to leave before reception opens, please settle any outstanding balance and coordinate your check-out with our team the day before.
