Hotel Portuense Lisboa

Hotel Portuense, being totally renovated in 2018, is located in the historic area of downtown Lisbon, the Baixa Pombalina, in Rua das Portas de Santo Antao.

There are 40 private rooms available, from single to family rooms; all with private bathrooms, air conditioning, heating, TV, telephone and hairdryers. We are known for having a pleasant family and cosy environment.

The road is full with a heavy mix of restaurants. One may indulge in a variety of seafood, meat or even chicken dishes accompanied by some of the best red and green wines. Why not also try the famous Ginjinha? Follow the trail of this important street and you may find yourself watching a famous play at the Coliseu dos Recreios, the Politeama Theatre or at the D. Maria II Theatre. You may also encounter a French Community Chapel (Igreja Sao Luis dos franceses).

For a journey back in time, behind the hotel, one can find some traces of the old prison of Tronco where Luis de Camoes was jailed, in 1552, for having been involved in a fight.
