Originally I planned to stay at Blue Lake Hostel for 3 nights, but ended up staying longer as a volunteer because I liked it so much! Vesna and Nino are so sweet and will help you find the best spots and restaurants, and the regular guests will help you out too. All the people I met were so social and keen to make friends which added to the vibes ✨. I loved being able to walk to the lake, and the hostels boat tour is really fun too! I def recommend staying here!!!! 😁😁

Blue Lake Hostel is genuinely one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The location, facilities, amenities and surroundings are incredible, but what really makes it special are the people. Vesna and Nino are the most amazing hosts — incredibly warm, generous and attentive, and they make you feel completely looked after from the moment you arrive. The whole place has a brilliant atmosphere, and the staff are fantastic. If you’re staying in Ohrid, this is the place to stay…absolutely phenomenal.

The staff was lovely and super helpful. However, I didn’t feel safe at all due to there being no proper door or anything for the whole property, meaning that anyone could just walk in. It didn’t feel clean and hygienic and the location was okay but a 15 minute walk at least to all the good spots in town.
