Sonja's Guesthouse is a warm cozy guesthouse within 1 kilometer distance from the international airport of Suriname. Its an ideal spot to descend into the pristine Amazon rainforest, visit the nearby Amerindian villages and maroon communities. The Amerindian village Wit Santi is 5 minutes by foot and there are more 11 Amerindian villages in district Para.

Sonja guesthouse is an ideal home for those who aim to explore the Suriname rainforest, visit resorts, river beaches and native communities. The district Para also host several maroon communities, but despite the native life style of these communities, Para is home to the only international airport of Suriname. This is one of the many contrast that Suriname and especially Para has to offer.

We offer garden view rooms, nested in a tropical garden with plenty of shade. In the garden you can find fruits such as avocado, coconut, cherries, banana and pepper. The rooms share the bathroom, kitchen and living room, but there is plenty of private space on the terrace, garden house or on a chair under a tree in the garden. Wake up with the sound of birds and monkeys and let the scent of the jungle vitalize your brain.

We are flexible so just let us know if you will arrive late in the night or very early in the morning.
If you need tours around the area we can arrange that.
There are plenty of tropical fruits in the garden, which are free for guest to consume during their stay.
We have a swimming pool but no pool guard, so swimming us at your own risk.
The forest has lots of animals such as monkeys, and other, but hunting is forbidden.
