Punta del Este is not a cheap city, but thankfully this hostel is a great cheap option for backpackers. It is located pretty far from the main part of town but is right near the beach and some restaurants. The staff are friendly for the most part but don’t speak much English. If you aren’t a Spanish speaker, you’ll likely have a hard time socializing here even though everyone is friendly. The hostel is also home to the friendliest black cat! Biggest suggestion is to add lockers to the rooms.

Good facilities but no atmosphere, about 8 people staying in the hostel. Also very far away from most things, but 30 min walk to the beach.

Really nice hostel located in a strategic place since you have access to both playa Mansa and playa brava in a few minutes. Comfy beds, no aircom, sometimes the inet connection doesn't work, nice kitchen, among other things. Now, if you are looking to sleep at night and you kinda struggle to fall asleep, beware that you might have A LOT of noise coming from the common area. At night people get together there and things can get noisy. If you like meeting people, then this place is meant for you.
