Hostal La Isla

I had the best time at La Isla! It’s a small, chill hostel and the owners/volunteers made it very homely. I originally booked only a few days and ended up staying 2 weeks, I had to force myself to leave. Probably not the spot for you if you want a super lively, party atmosphere, but if you want to feel like you’re part of a family and join a small welcoming community in San Cris then this is the place for you. The owners regularly share interested cultural events throughout the week.

I absolutely love staying at la Isla, stayed for about a month and honestly had such a good time. it is a very chill hostel with a real community feel. The hostel is very clean and the kitchen is one of the best I have found in hostels. the knives could be sharper but that's pretty standard when a lot of people use the same knives constantly. I stayed in the cushy dorm (with the curtains) and the bed was comfortable and gave me some privacy. It kinda became home and I am sad to go!

Loved the vibes of this hostel - the volunteers and free yoga were the personal highlights for me! Thank you to AK and Marian for curating such a wonderful space! I hope to be back :)
