I had a lovely stay here, there’s such a homely vibe. it was my first stop in brazil and i felt super safe and welcome. all the staff were so friendly and helpful with recommendations of how to spend my time in rio. the beds were comfy and the hostel was super clean at all times. it was quiet but i was still able to meet people there, so if you’re solo travelling but like somewhere more peaceful i would defo recommend :) Thanks to Maria and all the staff 🫶🏻

Hostel New Ipanema is very close to the beach and restaurants. I overall enjoyed my stay. The only thing I would recommend is for them to put a sign on the gate or email incoming guests so that they can find it more easily. I arrived at night and was alone as a female traveler and would have probably not found the entrance without the help of a kind local. I think for others in my situation, a sign on the main gate or something similar would make solo travelers feel more comfortable.
