I stayed for one night and LOVED spending time outside, the view is beautiful. It's pretty far from the center of Chamonix but close to a bus stop & train station. Staff gave me a free train pass so I rode it for a while (incredible views) and explored around. I'm not a hiker or athlete and that seemed to be the target audience so I felt a little out of place but if that's your vibe then I'd recommend. Fairly clean, good free breakfast, no lockers and not much security but seems like a safe area

Very cozy stay, clean rooms, with free portable water, microwave and amazing breakfast. Beautiful view from the backyard. Staffs are really nice. Only drawbacks : The hostel is a little far away from the city center, maybe 30 minutes walk. The shower facility is not that good and there’s no hairdryer.
