Had a really good stay at Basil Hostel. The place has a very warm and homely vibe, and it’s super easy to meet and connect with new people. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and you still get your own personal space, which I really liked.Everyone was friendly and welcoming, making the whole stay even more enjoyable. Definitely recommend Basil Hostel if you’re looking for a comfortable, clean, and social place to stay in Muscat!

Basil believes, like me, that Muscat and Oman in general , can and should be backpacker destinations. Oman has everything the typical backpacker would want: relative affordability, beautiful old cities, wild camping, mountain treks, friendly hospitable people . I've only chatted briefly with Basil between exchanging some tunes on oud and guitar but I can tell we are kindred spirits and I hope that his dreams for creating artist spaces for the latent creatives in Muscat come true!
