Kiez Hostel

The hosts were incredibly rude. The check in time says 2:00, but when we arrived at 2:00 we were told we couldn’t check in for another two hours and that the host would be unwilling to hold our bags. While waiting in the entry way to figure out what to do, the host physically pushed us out of the building while referring to us as the ‘annoying italians’ (we are not italian, not that it matters). Additionally, they gave us the wrong door code, so one of the building residents had to let us in.

24 hour reception is not true. I emailed 3 days in advance, and received no answer to my questions. The restaurant underneath is also not true. The doorcode provided was incorrect. We were not given a room number either, until way later. We were forced to stay elsewhere. FALSE ADVERTISING! Do not stay.

This hostel is well located, near metro and bus lines and walking distance from everything in Montmartre. Felt secure leaving my things in my room and the beer garden downstairs is an added plus if you're looking for atmosphere! The communal bathroom wasn't cleaned once during my week long stay, but having my own shower and room made up for it! I don't tolerate cigarette smell well and had to keep the window closed when the terrasse was busy, I recommend the host add fans to help with the heat
