Allpa Andina Hostel

Very disappointing stay. Although check-in was listed as 12pm, I wasn’t allowed in until 2pm after waiting outside and calling the WhatsApp number following a 20-hour journey. The 4-bed dorm was dirty despite me being the only guest: hair on the bed/floor, dust, and a stained pillow. The room was very cold, the window didn’t close, there was loud noise past midnight, no hot water even from the tap, and cat litter hadn’t been emptied. I left after one night.

Upon check-in they tried making me pay double the advertised (and reserved) price on Hostelworld. The hostel was not clean, and had no hot water in the communal bathroom. I was also awoken by the hosts and their friends (who were not staying in the hostel). The hostel owners were singing loudly and smoking outside my room at 1 a.m. This, in addition to the freezing cold room resulted in my leaving the hostel after my first night.

Excellent location, staff and facilities. My only complaint is that a few people made a lot of noise in the public area late into the night, making it difficult to sleep.
