I stayed at Emaro for around 10 nights. It’s worth noting that this isn’t really a traditional hostel in the usual sense, but more of a bed-space style accommodation, with a mix of short-term guests and people staying for several months.
The staff were very good throughout my stay. Everyone was friendly, helpful and the place generally seemed well managed. People respect others personal space and there were no concerns for safety and security of my belongings.
The facilities are decent, the air conditioning was always running, and each guest has a small locker, with larger storage spaces available for longer-term residents.
The main area that needs improvement is cleanliness. I saw quite a few bugs and cockroaches around the kitchen, and the shared bathroom, which is used by around 15 or more people, could definitely be maintained better. I also saw maggots in the bathroom during my stay, which was particularly unpleasant.
Overall, it’s a decent and affordable option if you understand the type of accommodation you’re booking. The staff are excellent, but hygiene and cleanliness need more attention.
