Safestay Brighton Royal Pavilion

Truly terrible. They told me the bed had been made but it still had dirty sheets and trash from a previous guest. Many rooms still under construction despite being rented. No ceiling fan, despite being told there was. The lobby had the most oppressive and hellish lighting and design. Swinging light bulbs with different light temperatures, with harsh shadows that make you feel like you’re in a Soviet prison. The only light in room was a bright bulb right above my bunk Beds were double booked

Terrible experience - do not recommend this hostel! I specifically booked and paid for a female-only dorm room due to safety reasons. However, when I arrived, I was placed in a room with men. When I brought this serious mistake to the staff's attention, they provided no assistance and claimed they couldn't do anything about it. Apparently this has happened to many others as well. I felt very unsafe, disregarded and view it as a major breach of trust and safety!

The staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble for them. They were very kind which I appreciated. Westbeach is located near the shops and there is a happy atmosphere. I appreciated Catherine, the manager, finding me a bunk at such a busy time and I am trying to rebook and awaiting a reply.
