Oasis on the Beach

the location right on the beach was the best part. quite a long walk into town but is easier in the evenings. the rooms were very basic and en suite was not great.. broken shower head so everything got soaked & water always cold. communal toilets never had any tissue paper in mornings. no towels provided & no washing facilities the staff were really lovely and the bar area was super social. made some amazing friends here which made me stay but overall the hostel neeeeds some work

The positive is the location, you’re right on the beach, the owners are nice and friendly and it’s decently priced. The negative, it’s just not clean. The bathrooms are wet rooms and very dirty, the air conditioning didn’t work and felt like I was breathing in dirty air. If you just want a bed to sleep in then it’s perfect, if you want to feel comfortable and clean, it might not be for you.

The beach and courtyard area are quite nice. However, the hostel is far away from any transportation so be prepared to carry your luggage for about 20-30 minutes when arriving in himare. The communal, mixed gender showers and bathrooms were rudimentary, and did not seem to be cleaned/restocked often. The hostel did have a good social aspect too it though and staff were helpful.
