The dorm was like falling apart, sometimes we didn't have water, our AC kept breaking and when it did it was blasting too cold. The hostel is under construction, which it doesn't say anywhere, and staff was friendly enough but barely hit the bare minimum. I had kind of a miserable stay

The rooms and bathrooms are very basic for the price you are paying! It was very sociable however but not down to the hostel itself - the staff seem quite disinterested. I had a bad experience where I woke up twice in the night to find one of the men staying in my room sitting on my bed. I told the staff the next day and all they said was ‘oh he was quite drunk last night’. I didn’t feel very safe here as a girl. Overall though I had a good time and there aren’t many options in Caye Caulker!

I had an amazing stay at Bella’s in Caye Caulker! The atmosphere was super friendly and relaxed, and the staff really went above and beyond. I especially want to give a huge shoutout to Kevin, the security guard — he made me feel welcome and safe from the moment I arrived. He also gave me some of the best local recommendations that completely made my trip. Thanks to him, I got to experience the island in the best way possible. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next visit to Caye Caulker
