Tam Coc Rice Fields Resort

The staff were very friendly but unfortunately the facilities were very run down and dirty to the extent that we only stayed one night even though we paid for two. I would have expected this if labeled a homestay, but it was labeled as a resort. The bedrooms are technically indoors but bugs can easily get in - I found lots of small dead bugs in my bed, a spider in the curtains, and numerous bugs on the floor. The bathrooms are also completely outdoors so you get bitten by mosquitos.

Staff did not speak very good English, advised us against taxing taxis which I read were quite fine in Ninh Binh (later took taxis in Ninh Binh without issue). Food was quite overpriced, not a great breakfast selection. Location is a little bit outside of Tam Coc, so just make sure you know that before you come (very close to Bich Dong pagoda but a little far from everything else). Would be more aptly named an ecolodge than a resort.

We had an amazing stay and were so sad to leave! We can't recommend it enough. It is calm and away from the busy tourist town, but not too far. The rooms and bathroom are so clean and beautifully designed. Waking up in the morning to mountains and vibrant green rice paddy fields is breathtaking, and the breakfast views are beautiful! We loved the free bike rentals. The staff is so friendly and happy. Nothing negative to say, we absolutely loved all of it!
