City Hotel Carlton

We paid for 3 night stay. On the first night my wife woke up and the fitted sheet came off revealing a menstruation stain on the mattress making her gag. She immediately got us a new room for 2 days. We told the staff that it was inexcusable for our room to be in such a condition. It's not only nasty but it is a health risk. They didn't say a word. I asked for my money back and they refused. I was happy at Park Place for the rest of my stay for just a few bucks more. Please be weary of them

Im giving it 2 stars for the “not so bad” location and it was very clean. But the staff was very unfriendly, we had a room on the last floor and there was no lift and the stairs were very old and narrow. The beds and pillows are by far the worse I’ve had my entire life. My self and the other 2 traveling with me have terrible back and neck pain because of that. The shower from our private bathroom was almost on top of the toilet, so water ended up everywhere which made it disgusting to use it.

The location is excellent, a short walk to Victoria station. The room is about three square metres in total, including the bathroom. In order to sit on the toilet you have todo a 180 degree turn. There’s no phone and only one towel ( no hand towel or face cloth). The pluses are the open window looking out onto a leafy tree and a fan. Lots of tea and coffee bags are supplied. There is no lift.
