The staff/host family are the best part of the hostel. Speak good English and can book all the attractions for you with no extra cost. Good social vibe and can walk their pet dog Labubu. 10 Yuan taxi to national park east gate. Best hostel in Zhangjiajie and the place to stay.

I stayed at another Desti in Chengdu before but this one was much worse compared to the other one.There's only 2 shared bathrooms with very few stalls for the entire floor and it was quite dirty and smelled really bad. Girls and boys dorms are mixed on the same floor, the hallways are quite dark. The rooms were also not very clean, and dusty. There's no place to smoke except for the dark (and cold) stairwell or right outside the building on the sidewalk — where i got some weird looks.

Big hostel in a central location, capsule type beds but very clean and comfortable. Craft brewery on site. Friendly helpful staff with a location to study and work on site. Highly recommended
