Young & Happy Hostel opened in 1983 and it was the first independent hostel

It's located in the historical and famous Rue Mouffetard, a perfect district for the local people, the tourists, and the students. Ernest Hemingway refers to it, in “The Moveable Feast” as that, “quaint little shopping street” Known worldwide for its bars, its galleries, its restaurants and its atmosphere, the Latin quarter is a wonderful place of Paris. You could visit the Cathédrale Notre-Dame, the gardens of Luxembourg, the Jardin Botanique, the Panthéon , because they are near our hostel. Moreover, all the activities, and touristic sites of Paris are easily accessible by the subway.
The Young and Happy Hostel,is the perfect hostel of the traveler: we sleep in its dormitory, we play at its football table, we cook there, and we sit together with travelers from the world,making friends for an indefinite time or for the life..
Let's Go Europe 2007 called Young & Happy :' A backpacker's home away from home'. The lively atmosphere, clean rooms and relaxed staff make for an enjoyable stay.
Enjoy our Happy Hour where people meet and make memories in one of the most beautiful place in the French Capital.
The Wi-Fi is free in the entire hostel, and the rooms are cleaned every day also, without extra fees. We don't have elevator.

Young & Happy Latin Quarter by Hiphophostels in Parijs heeft een onverslaanbare locatie in het levendige Quartier Latin, perfect om te verkennen. Het personeel is over het algemeen vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Recente beoordelingen vermelden echter vaak problemen met de netheid van de badkamers, waaronder schimmel, en de douches kunnen problematisch zijn met getimede waterstroom. Sommige gasten merken ook een gebrek aan stopcontacten bij de bedden en oncomfortabele, lawaaierige bedden op.

I stayed here for 3 nights. The location was good and the staff were also nice. However, the facilities were not great. There was no lift, and the stairs were not very good. The staff helped me with my luggage, which was very kind. The bathroom was not clean. Also, when I went to the toilet the last day, I saw a guy standing and peeing with the door open. I didn’t say anything, but I think some things the hostel can fix, and some things depend on the people staying there. So maybe some people need to learn

Location makes up for a lot! Everything is in walking distance, or public transport is very close by. The beds are nice and the rooms very spacious! However... the showers and toilets were not, and very dirty! There was no real atmosphere in the hostel (eventhough the surroundings are very lively; which you can easily hear at night). It was a bit too expensive for what you get in return... Especially concerning the filthy facilities...

The location of the hostel is great with many bars, restaurants and shops. The staff is so friendly and speaks English very well. However your room can be next to the busy 'party-street', that was the case with us. The windows are thin and bad and don't block any noise at all. Until 2 you hear the people outside but from 5 in the morning you hear the garbage and glass being picked up from the bars, even with earplugs we couldn't sleep.
