Young & Happy Hostel opened in 1983 and it was the first independent hostel

It's located in the historical and famous Rue Mouffetard, a perfect district for the local people, the tourists, and the students. Ernest Hemingway refers to it, in “The Moveable Feast” as that, “quaint little shopping street” Known worldwide for its bars, its galleries, its restaurants and its atmosphere, the Latin quarter is a wonderful place of Paris. You could visit the Cathédrale Notre-Dame, the gardens of Luxembourg, the Jardin Botanique, the Panthéon , because they are near our hostel. Moreover, all the activities, and touristic sites of Paris are easily accessible by the subway.
The Young and Happy Hostel,is the perfect hostel of the traveler: we sleep in its dormitory, we play at its football table, we cook there, and we sit together with travelers from the world,making friends for an indefinite time or for the life..
Let's Go Europe 2007 called Young & Happy :' A backpacker's home away from home'. The lively atmosphere, clean rooms and relaxed staff make for an enjoyable stay.
Enjoy our Happy Hour where people meet and make memories in one of the most beautiful place in the French Capital.
The Wi-Fi is free in the entire hostel, and the rooms are cleaned every day also, without extra fees. We don't have elevator.

The room was in a 5 floor walkup and you have to walk down two flights to use the toilet or shower. There are only 2 toilets and 2 showers for 3 floors of people and 2 more showers and a toilet one floor further down. All were dirty and falling apart. The beds have no privacy whatsoever so if someone turns on a light it is directly in your eyes when you are sleeping. The lockers are in terrible shape. The doors barely close and they are too small for any luggage. Even fitting a backpack in one.

This hostel is kinda cute and boutique which is located in the 5th district and also in a safe area. That’s why i chose this hostel. Behind this, facilities were insufficient. there are no sockets in beds, bunks were old and noisy, AND THE shower was terrible. There are no shower heads, and it sprays water from a small protrusion on the wall as if it is piercing a person's head. Also, you should press the button every 15 seconds to pour water. Staff were friendly.

The location is great, and the guys at reception were very friendly and helped me a lot! The beds are quite noisy and the room was pretty hot, but other than that, I really enjoyed my stay. I also think it would be great if they added key card access to the main entrance too.
