owner was the GOAT. he was so generous and nice. he gave me a lift all the way to paraty as he was going to são paulo. be aware there a lot of mosquitoes in the room and the beds aren’t the comfiest but it’s probably one of the best hostels on the island other than that. could do with a purified water machine also.

This is a nice small hostel with a homey feel. Very social and everybody talks since it’s smaller. A bit expensive tho and when I asked to stay an extra night they charged me more the last night. They lock the door late at night so I had to jump the gate to go on an early morning run. The shower water was cold and I found out they switched the settings for that. The toilets didn’t flush great so I ran into some gross suprises. Kitchen closes at 9, no microwave or filtered water. Joseph is great.

The hostel was really social, it was really easy to connect to other travelers. The owner is really friendly and the location is good and easy to reach. The hostel doesn’t have a generator, so when there is a power shortage (which happens quite frequently) there won’t be any electricity until the power on the whole island is back.
