How to get to Bukit Lawang (Airport)

The most convenient way to get to Bukit Lawang is with a taxi from Medan Airport. Even with the comfort of spacious leather seats and air-conditioning, the trip can be a long one. It takes about three and half hours and the road is bumpy and winding. Making the trip in this fashion will set you back around.

If you’re keen on saving a good chunk of change and are up for a bit of adventure, then read the following instructions carefully. Airport to Medan or Airport to Binjai.
If you are coming from the airport, you need to take DAMRI (Airport public bus) to Medan then city minibus to Pinang Baris to Bukit Lawang . If you take bus ALS to Binjai, you should ask your driver to drop you off Tanah Lapang, from here you need to hop on a public coach minibus (PS/ALMASAR) to Bukit Lawang and the fare is one way.

There's also an express shared car 🚗 you can also book transportation to Bukit Lawang, there're still any seats left.

Enjoy on holiday immensely with your beloved family, friends or solo. If I guide you through the Mount Leuser jungle trek get ready for lots of walking, observing, swimming, and singing all together…

'Jungle trek, jungle trek in Bukit Lawang,

See the monkey, see the bird, see orangutan

jungle trek, jungle trek in Bukit Lawang,

See the monkey, see the bird, see orangutan

Walking in jungle, see the animal,

Walking together in Bukit Lawang,

Rafting together, singing together

Everything together in Bukit Lawang hey, hey

This place was the highlight of our trip. So welcoming and hospitable. We loved Roger as our guide in the jungle. We booked the dorm room where there was 2 large beds which was a nice change from bunk beds. I would recommend this hostel to everyone. Definitely do the orangutan jungle trip for at least one night you wont regret it. Even the food was amazing!

Had a great stay here, was clean, beautiful location, helpful and friendly staff, and a nice outdoor area to sit and eat. We did a 3day jungle trek organized here and it was absolutely amazing. We came in the low season felt so lucky experience the jungle with few others. Of course it is a bit of an adventure and difficult but also beautiful and life changing. If you’re up for something different, I would highly recommend.
