Welcome to the HighRoad - your home away from home. Located in the vibrant and bustling Adams Morgan neighborhood, we are steps away from over 50 bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. We are an easily walk, bike, or bus ride down to the main attractions at the National Mall. With 24 hour staffed desk, we are always here to help make your stay in DC as memorable as possible.

Important Payment Information: Taxes & Deposits
Guest payment must be issued under their name, invalid cards will be flagged and cancelled within 24 hours.

1) Local Taxes are NOT included - 15.95% local hotel tax will be applied to your balance due by law and charged by the HighRoad **
2) Hostelworld charges a 18% deposit at the time of booking. The HighRoad then charges a *separate* deposit to help hold and guarantee your reservation with us.
3) Deposit for Standard Flexible Reservations: your first night + tax is charged at the time of booking. Your remaining balance is charged 24 hours before your date of check in.
4) Deposit for Nonrefundable Reservations: your full balance is charged at the time of booking.
5) If your payment fails, your reservation is flagged for 24 hours. If payment is not updated within 24 hours, your booking may be cancelled.

Cancellation Policies
Cancellation requests must be submitted via email.

Standard Flexible Reservation Deposit & Cancellation Policy: The first night + tax total is charged at the time of booking. The remaining balance is charged 24 hours prior to arrival. This policy applies across all booking platforms.

Flexible reservation requests for cancellations, modifications, or adjustments must be submitted 72 hours or more prior to midnight on your date of check in to receive a full refund and avoid cancellation fees. Any nights cancelled sooner than 3 nights in the future are not eligible for refund. If you have checked-in and decide to shorten your flexible reservation, the 72-hour (3-day) policy is still enforced and any nights sooner than 3 nights in the future are not refundable.

Nonrefundable Reservation Deposit & Cancellation Policy: The entire reservation amount is charged at the time of booking. This policy applies across all booking platforms.

By booking a nonrefundable reservation, you are locking in a discounted rate in exchange for no flexibility within your reservation. Nonrefundable reservations are 100% nonrefundable and cannot be cancelled, modified, or transferred without penalty equal to 100% of the reservation total no matter the cancellation circumstance.

Hotel Room $100 Hold
$100 Preauthorization For Each Hotel Room Reservation (this does NOT apply to dorm rooms): The HighRoad will pre-authorize a temporary "hold" on funds from your credit/debit card in the amount of $100. This is not an actual charge but a hold used to guarantee guest’s payment methods can cover possible incidentals which range from damages to clean up fees. Damage and clean up fees are assessed by management once you have checked out of your room. During inspections, we look for any possible lost, stolen or damaged items. The $100 preauthorization expires within 7 business days of the initial preauthorization (your day of check in) where the hold will be removed from your account.


Guest Registration
All guests must complete our guest registration process after their reservation is made. This process is completed via link sent through a software partner of Highroad called Akia. This link is sent via email or SMS. Guests will use the link to confirm their reservation details, acknowledge house rules and policies, and upload their ID. Once this process is complete, guests will gain important stay information. This process is required in order to check in.

Check In Requirements
*All guests must be 18 years or older
*Each guest staying must have a valid ID.
*If multiple people are checking into a reservation, all names must be provided in order to check in
*Guests must reside 90+ miles away from the HighRoad. USA passports are not accepted for dorm rooms.
*We have a 14 night maximum stay in a rolling 12 month period.


Stay Information:
POD style privacy bunk beds with curtains, personal storage, lights, and outlets.
Large lockers assigned to each guest to store your luggage or other items.
Common kitchen area with food storage space, pots, pans, cups, cutlery, and basics for prepping your favorite meals.
Common areas to recharge in, relax, or get some work done.
Private shower and bathroom stalls throughout the building.
