About

Two blocks from the beach, cold beer in hand, surrounded by people you met yesterday but already feel like friends. That's a normal Tuesday at Mellow.

We're a surf and social hostel on Guatemala's Pacific coast in El Paredón. Whether you came to catch waves, escape your routine, or just because someone on the road told you "dude, go to Mellow," you'll fit right in. We built the week around bringing people together:

● Family Dinners, the fastest way to make friends for the rest of your trip
● Karaoke, Trivia, or Music Bingo at the bar, zero pressure
● Beer Pong Tournament & Mellowlympics by the pool when you're feeling competitive
● Fridays: DJs and electronic music to close out the week
● Sip & Paint & Daily Yoga

No communal kitchen, but our restaurant is open 7 AM–9 PM with good food and smoothies. Trust us, you don't want to cook in this heat anyway.
We've got private rooms and shared dorms. AC dorms have curtains on the bunks for privacy; fan dorms come with mosquito nets. All rooms have lockers.

Heads up: we're 18+ only, no pets. The town ATM runs dry sometimes so bring enough cash (you'll get a 5% discount for paying in cash with us too).

Come be part of the Mellow family. We'll see you at the pool.

not good value for money at all doesn't do the basics well . the mosquito net in the tipi had holes and did not actually close which is essential due to the number of mosquitos . the tent was uncomfortably hot and a small fan isn't enough . the hostel is sandy . the bins aren't emptied and their is nowhere to dispose of your bin bags from the room . it is very social tho

Overall great place to stay, rooms are super nice - plenty of space and comfy beds. Common area was great and staff were super helpful. No outside food and drinks was a little tough on the budget…
