In the former “Ostbahnhof” area, Munich is youthful, vibrant, and dynamic. The area now elegantly combines modern living with event venues, gastronomy, sports, shopping in a spacious green setting and excellent access to public transport. The city center and Theresienwiese (Oktoberfest) are just a short ride away.

You can even climb the hostel – right next to our City Hostel is a climbing gym with access to parts of the facade. ;-)

I had a private room which was a good size and well equiped with storage. I didn’t get wifi in there for my whole 3 night stay though and I did let reception know three times. No one seemed too surprised so I’m wondering if the wifi doesn’t work in rooms on the seventh floor. The walls are thin and shake when neighbours shut their doors, and it is a noisy area with nightlife. The kitchen is really small for such a large hostel so you have to wait to fit in there sometimes. So okay but not great.

Good hostel, great location. Kitchen and dining area a bit small for the overall size of hostel (there were queues at dinner time). Otherwise, it's a pretty good choice for hostel, with the S-bahn providing direct trains into the city centre.
