Oldtown Hostel Otter is located in the heart of Zurich with a trendy bar where you meet locals as well as other travellers. The legendary Hotel Otter changed 2016 into a hostel right in the old town of Zurich. The hostel is above the trendy Wueste Bar where guests from the hostel get a discount before 10 pm.
If you are used to stay in dorms, you will appreciate the central location with the possibility to have a great night at the bar and meet many people, locals as well as other travellers. Most tourist sights are within walking distance from the hostel. The Lake of Zurich is just 200 meters away. The Grossmünster, the art museum and the opera house are only five minutes walking distance and the legendary Cafe Odeon is just around the corner.
The hostel offers 50 beds at the Oberdorfstrasse that leads through upper part of the old town. It offers 10 dorms and 3 private rooms for moderate prices.
There is a common room with a microwave, fridge and oven to prepare some small food. Free tea and coffee is available 24 hours in the common area. Free hi-speed wifi in all rooms and although free luggage storage before check-in and after check-out in a lockerbox in the common rooms on the 2nd floor (locks provided). We provide bedsheets and one towel for free.
Reception is open from 8:30 to 10:00 am, after we are cleaning. Latest from 3 pm the reception is open again, before we might be at the reception as well. After 5 pm we are at the bar until min. 23 h (sunday closed during summer). On the day of arrival we charge the balance due on the creditcard, if it is not paid, and leave the key in the keybox at the entrance of the hostel when we close the office after around 8pm - the code for the box are the last 4 digits of your hostelworld confirmation-number. Please let us know after reservation, if you don't want that the card will be charged in the evening of the arrival day. So we leave the keys in the bar, and you can pay there (it might be busy, sunday the bar is closed during summer but the reception stays open until 10 pm)
