Extremely disappointed with Hostelworld. As a solo female traveller, I raised a serious safety concern, never checked in, lost the accommodation I had paid for, and had to find somewhere else to stay. I waited days for support, only to receive a factually wrong response saying I had checked out early. I NEVER checked in. It honestly felt like nobody properly reviewed my case or cared what had happened.

Overall Samesun was fine. It was clean and staff were super friendly. The one thing I didn't like was the location. I felt unsafe walking alone at night so I didn't go out after dark. There were lots of homeless around the hostel and police presence was definitely felt. It really impacted my impression of Vancouver to the point that I checked out two days early to go to Victoria instead.
