Welcome to Mama Tungu, a social hostel surrounded by nature on Baños’ famous Ruta de las Cascadas.

We are the perfect choice for travelers looking for adventure, beautiful surroundings and an easy way to meet people. From the hostel you can see three waterfalls and enjoy our swimming pool, hot tub, bar, restaurant, coworking area and comfortable social spaces.

Our team organizes daily adventures and social activities, making it easy to explore Baños and connect with other travelers. When you book activities through Mama Tungu, round-trip transportation from the hostel is included, so you do not need to organize your own transport.

OUR LOCATION

Mama Tungu is located outside the busy town centre, in a peaceful natural setting on the Ruta de las Cascadas.

A taxi between downtown Baños and the hostel costs around $3. During the day, you can also walk 800 metres downhill to the main road and take the local bus for only $0.35.

Our location is especially convenient for exploring the Ruta de las Cascadas. From the main road, you can take the bus directly along the waterfall route without having to return to downtown Baños first.

This means you can enjoy the best of both worlds: easy access to town and the waterfalls, while staying surrounded by nature and away from the noise of the centre.
