Hotel Zara

Can only leave the building when asking the staff to open the door as it is always locked. You must even wake him from his room in the night. This is a huge hazard, you cannot leave without him. We had to leave at 5am and he woke up, opened the door with a key, then went back to sleep. Was not clean, room smelled really bad, there were hairs on the bed and floor. Room was directly next to reception. All through until late the phone rang loud, people talked, very disruptive.

This is a 2nd-floor apartment which has been converted into a hostel, so the layout is atypical: my room opened straight onto the reception and I had to cross it to get to the bathroom. The walls were thin so I could hear every time the doorbell or phone rang at night. That aside, the room itself was exactly what I needed - tiny but clean with a bed, a sink, and even a tiny balcony. The price was low and I got what I paid for. Warning - I arrived late and the area feels a bit sketchy at night.
