Pousada Maura

I love my hosts, very safe, and good taco stand down the street, you need to know basic spanish. i will stay again, bed very comfortable. Gracias a mis anfitriones, volverie y me carteles mas tiempo, necesito aprender mas espanol. adios.

I returned to stay at Pousada Maura after not having been there for nine years. The owners are very pleasant and welcoming. The building is old and basic, but clean and good value for the money. The location is conveniently near the old bus station and a 15-20 minutes walk to the center of Guadalajara. I would not walk after dark to the center as the area feels somewhat unsafe at night.

A small, nice family-run hostel near historic downtown area. I made friends with staff who made me feel right at home. I spent another 5 nights at Pousada Maura, before my return to SF, early January 2018. (H. policy -- Have pesos ready - pay ahead)
