A little unfair to review Tobermory youth hostel as 2 days before I stayed at Torridon youth hostel which is superb and anywhere else seems inferior in comparison.

hostel was locatated in a good location, within walking distance to local buses, pubs, distillary, tour locations ie boats, and has trails within walking distance. the hostel rooms were basic, and perfect. the waahroom i used happen to be the ladies only one, as it was a convient location adjacent to my room. it was clean, and I had no issues. kitchen had a good set up, and staff memeber Chris was friendly upon arrival

Iconic location, let down by inadequate facilities. Lack of hot water for showering for the number of guests accepted at one time. Poor drainage - water pooled badly in the shower. Zero hot water in the kitchen for washing dishes. The exception was the staff, who couldnt have been more helpful. Come on Tobermory Hostel, you are letting Hostelworl down.
