Help Yourself Hostels Parede

Entry code repeatedly failed to work over 3 days. Then the door bell stopped working for some reason. No fans or airco in the building. I asked why and the guy just said that people had stolen them.....? Buy some new ones! It was 40°c outside. Almost no cutlery or plates in the kitchen and a really bad quality electric cooker. Lockers were small, not even a basic rucksack could fit in. Hey! At least we got a free towel for the 1 working shower. Great location next to the station and beach

Would definitely stay here again! Great WiFi, GREAT staff and generally friendly environment. Location is perfect, next to the train station/a short walk to the beach. Transport to other beach spots is also very affordable. There is a keypad for the door, so access is easy, and there are common areas to cook, eat, or sit outside and socialize. Just be aware, the city tax stated on Hostel World as €2 each, has not been updated and is actually €4 each per night (for the first seven nights)

we had a horrible experience here when we arrived. we informed the manager by email that our flight is late but we didnt receive any reply, when we landed we called the number supplied but no answer we messaged multiple times but nothing. to make things worse our flight was delayed so we arrived at 1am and couldn't enter. we had to beg on the street to enter for over an hour. we have found out that the email and phone number is not monitored at all and we still havent seen the manager.WTF!!
