Terrible check in process. The owner only spoke Portuguese so we could not communicate as I speak English. She wanted me to wait until her son showed up who spoke English to check me in. She was unable to tell me how long I needed to wait on her son to arrive. The room floor was dirty, there were cobwebs, there were ants everywhere in the room and kitchen. I was without internet service for 16 hours. The mother said she called the technician. It was the following day before it was restored.

Lovely hostel with beautiful garden. Rooms are very clean - perhaps the nicest hostel i’ve ever stayed in. Bathrooms are almost like hotel bathrooms. The people who work there were very kind.
