Twenty4 Hostel

It’s the only hostel in Paramaribo. It is a beautiful, old wooden house. It can get very warm, but the dorms are equipped with fans (no AC). They can organize tours with local tour operators for you. They also arrange transportation, i.e. to Guyana. But be sure to confirm the time several times. I checked about my transfer at 4.45am three times and it was confirmed to me. In the end the bus left at 3.45am without me. Luckily the security guard called another bus for me to pick me up.

good stay in a good location in parbo. staff are paid employees and not volunteers so it has more of a hotel vibe where the workers and folks staying are separate, no music,interaction, social environment encouraged in the common space.

Aside from an attempt to elicit more money from me as I was checking out with no explanation of the cause, the staff was ok. Not very friendly or helpful but readily accessible. There were a number of tourist sites in walking distance. My biggest issue was the cash-only culture that was a surprise. The hostel might emphasize it in their ad so travellers could be forewarned.
