Tetebatu Sama Sama Bungalow

One of the best hostels I've stayed in Indonesia. Staff are very kind and welcoming, going out of their way to do helpful things for you. The rooms and facilities are very well decorated, the restaurant and bar are lovely, atmosphere is very social without being loud. My only criticism is that sometimes girls are housed in the male only dorm, hot water is only available on request and often doesn't work, and on one occasion 7 travellers had to stay in a 6 person dorm due to a mistake. Don’t choose the cheapest private bungalow, it’s a mattress on the floor with a plug socket and fan. No shelves or anything else at all. Views are great and the better bungalows are amazing!

The mixed bed dorm is actually not at Sama Sama it is at Eddies hostel. It was still nice and clean just not what we expected. We then stayed one night at Sama Sama, the staff was great and the view was beautiful. The location is super close to the waterfall. We stayed in a family room and there are holes in the floor so bugs could get in and it would not be a good place for someone with asthma as they burn a large fire at night and the air smells very smoky. 50 stairs to family room
