Tomariya Ueno

The hostel had some issues. Tobacco smells often lingered due to open windows and people smoking outside. Restrooms weren’t very clean—shower floors looked dirty, and toilet seats often had urine. Noise at night was an issue since washroom doors stayed open. The dorms were uncomfortably hot, even with fans that barely worked, and smelled bad due to shoes left outside their closets. One staff member with longer hair had noticeable body odor. Light sleepers should beware of snorers.

The staff were kind of intimidating and someone not even from the hostel came into the lobby and wouldnt stop talking to us loudly so the security there was off. The dorms are passcoded though so safe from there on. The bunks were equipped with lockers which is handy and they were comfy. Convenient location

Great place to stay! Close to Ueno station which has great connectivity so able to go to many places quickly! Also very close to the Tokyo Skytree (station-wise) Staff are very friendly and helpful, and dorms and bathrooms are cleaned everyday!
