Overall the hostel felt to be good value for money. The best elements were the staff, the facilities and the breakfast was quite nice given how cheap it was. However, there just wasnâ€™t much of a vibe at the hostel and the surrounding area wasnâ€™t the most exciting either. The beds were not comfy, very squeaky and the rooms were really hot despite the AC being turned on at 9pm. A lot of the bed frames, showers, lockers and crockery were in poor condition with a lot of rust.

Terrific stay. Botafogo is a fun neighborhood. The hostel has plenty of common areas, a full kitchen, and clean rooms. Great atmosphere - guests were easy to talk with, social and not loud. Best of all is the staff, who really make the place. Theyâ€™re super-nice, interesting, with lots of good stories, and were helpful from my very first call through departure. Elouise even baked cookies for everyone!

Good hostel and great staff! Wish there were more things to do aside from just pool, darts and drinking. Corn hole? Bowling? Something. Also, the private room is tiny and there was no hot water, just warm. The mattress was hot and it was hard to sleep because of the inside and outside noise.
