My first visit and stay in SP, and I'm glad I decided to go with this hostel. Friendly staff, great location and reasonable price. My only knock would be the kitchen facilities- the refrigerator was packed- and I had to personally remove rotten/spoiled food to make room. In addition, some food was left out and attracted flies. I understand we rely on each other to keep the facilities clean, but perhaps the staff could ensure that the refrigerator is refreshed and food isn't left out overnight.

Well, I stayed at Matianellu SP in October, and I booked a private room with them. I guess if you stay there during the summer at a dorm, you'll have a different experience. That being said, it was a great experience. It's super well-located, and sort of cheap for a private room. Beco do Batman is close by, there's always lots of things to do in São Paulo. So yeah, I would recommend Matianellu.
