We were the very first budget accommodation on the rock!
Opened in 1985 by Bill Bates, The hostel is proudly owned and operated by the Bates family.
We cater for those who are on a tight budget. We offer a basic, clean and affordable place to stay for the budget conscious traveller whom would still like to experience the great island life.
In a perfect location on the west side of the island, we are just a 1 min stroll down to the beautiful white sandy beach - a great spot for snorkelling. There is a takeaway cafe, hire shop, corner store and bus stop all within 1 minutes walk from the Hostel! And don't forget, every night you can witness some gorgeous sunsets!
Having a lifetime of experience, we are experts on our islands history, culture and customs. We aim to help you save money but still have a fulfilling experience on the Island.
Our spacious kitchen and dining area is great for everyone to cook and appreciate their own personal masterpieces. We have a large common area so it is really easy to socialize.
We have double rooms, twin rooms and 3 & 6 bed Dorm rooms available. All rooms include bedding, a fan and a personal alarm clock - Roosters! (They run the island!)
We also have fitted the rooms with mosquito netting and security screens for safety and comfort.
We offer a range of different activities all designed for budget travellers, creating a comfortable social atmosphere for everyone.
