You can make a hostel as nice as you want but no AC , small rooms, uncomfy beds and no plug points by the bed will make for a pretty bad stay.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hostel Soca Rocks. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with enough storage space. The kitchen was spacious and made it easy to cook while others also prepared their own meals. The staff were super accommodating and very helpful especially when we wanted to book activities— which came with a discount when booking through the hostel directly. Overall a 10/10 stay!
