Dar Al Bahar

Dar Al Bahar, 'the house by the sea' in Arabic, is located in the heart of the medina of Essaouira (Morocco) on the ramparts of this medieval city, facing the ocean and its trade winds.

From the terrace, you will be fascinated by the waves breaking against the rocks of the coast and by the circular panorama over the old city. The house is situated in a quiet area but not far from the main streets of the medina.

We are thrilled to inform you that, during October 13-17, 2012, the town of Essaouira witnessed the filming of parts of the third season of 'Game of Thrones', the popular medieval fantasy series. On October 15, some of the scenes were filmed on our street and near Dar Al Bahar, both almost magically transformed in a medieval set by the crafty crew, some of them also being our guests in the hotel. For those of you wishing to experience the 'Game of Thrones' atmosphere, we look forward to having you as our guests.

Please take note that, at the establishment, we accept only cash: euros, US dollars, GB pounds and dirhams.

Rates do NOT include tourist taxes applied by the city (23 dirhams/person/night), to be settled also at the front desk.
