On the June 16th 1883 Kamnik was celebrating one of the biggest feasts of its time – the arrival of Emperor Franz Joseph I. In his honour the house at Tunjiška 1 is called “pri Cesarju” (“at Emperor’s”).
Franci Sedmak bought this house in the 1985 determined to restore its long lost honour. The house was in extremely bad condition, so he combined strength with his father Frančišek Sedmak to rebuild it. It took 8 years until the Grand opening in 1993.
Long ago this stunning destination and extraordinary landscape was well known to tourists from Vienna, Prague, Budapest and even Trieste. These tourists came to Kamnik mainly because of the healing water. Kamnik is a special place full of tradition and history and a great tourist destination for a variety of outdoor sports activities. During the summer hiking in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and also cycling and running are very popular. In the winter tourists tend to find joy in cross country skiing or skiing on mountain peaks such as nearby Krvavec.
Pri Cesarju is situated 15 km from the Ljubljana airport and 20 km from the capital city of Ljubljana. In the vicinity of 50 to 200 meters there is a train station as well as the main bus station connecting Kamnik to Ljubljana. If you are up for a stroll in the medieval jewel, city centre is just 250 meters away.
Our accommodation capacities consist out of 11 rooms, which can accommodate up to 28 persons. All rooms and other common areas have free wireless Internet connection (WiFi). Each room is equipped with a bathroom consisting of a toilet and a shower as well as a hairdryer. The rooms are equipped with a refrigerator, land line telephone and an LCD TV (cable operator). Two rooms have a large balcony with views of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Guests can prepare their own snacks and beverages in the shared kitchenette.
Guests can also use our free private parking, which is protected by a remote control gate. We don’t enforce any curfew on the premises.
