Company Overview
For seven years, Hostelworld.com has facilitated online bookings into hostels across the globe. Prior to 1999, no technology solutions existed which enabled customers to make, and hostels to take, confirmed bookings via the internet. Reservations were only possible via high-commission travel agents, via snail-mail, or over the phone. In either case, payment processing was neither guaranteed nor efficient, leading to unhappy customers and unhappy hostels.

Hostelworld.com prides itself in connecting customers to hostels for the lowest commission levels in this industry. In doing so it enables the hostels to run more efficiently, and removes or reduces the need for haphazard and expensive offline marketing all of which impacts on the price the customers pay.

Apart from the sites customers see, Hostelworld.com provide technology solutions free of charge to hostels which make running a hostel simpler, and hopefully more profitable. Our property management system, Backpack, allows hostels to better manage their inventory, and provide improved service to customers throughout their stay.

Since the company was founded 7 years ago
