Hostelworld special was only 20 RMB! Very cool. Not so clean, especially the bathroom. Air conditioner was aged and didn't really get the job done. Remote location, but nice. You'll need to rely on some kind of transportation-- bus, taxi, etc. to get around. Very domestic crowd in the dorm room (meaning I lost count of how many times my roommates woke me up with their noise).
For a10bedmix for 20yuan/night the room was really nice. Had own bathroom in the room and curtains around own bed. Bed with chinese standards a bit hard if you are not used to. Wifi is bit weak inside room.Reception speak little bit english. In the beginning bit hard to find at zoo but there's a nice silent corner up the hill. They have nice big bar to hangout and just down from hostel local small restaurants where you can eat well and cheaply.
nice hostel with nice people and cosy bar/restaurant. internet was a bit slow. the rooms are nice and clean, but still we had 2 huge cockroaches in our room and our neighbours as well...no matter, we stayed one night longer than we had planed. the location is great!
This hostel is pretty close to the main attraction called "Xihu" aka "West Lake", it took us a few minutes to the lake entrance by bus. I came to Hangzhou from Shanghai by train and got off at Hangzhou main train station. (There are more than one main train station in Hangzhou, such as Hangzhou east/west/north stations , etc.) However, there was no direct bus to take you to Xihu area, so we had to take a cab and it cost 25RMB for one way. But watch out some cab drivers who ask you more.
Hostel with a good location and nice rooms. But reception doesn't work 24 hours. plus the bus which was pointed by hostel as one of the ways to get to their place doesn't exist any more. it'd be nice to renew information sometimes.
Definitely a very special and interesting hostel. More like a village with everything that a hostel should have. The dorms are in good price if you book here. AVOID the dormitory rooms in the backyards in hot summer...choose the dormitories nearby the reception room
You get what you pay for.. £2=a damp dorm with no air con and a shower full of dead wasps,do it if u can rough it!The private rooms were fine though, bar was nice, court yard and BBQ nice, good atmosphere, lots of squishy chill out spaces, good to be in nature,we walked in the mountains. The directions are awful. If you get dropped off at the zoo, walk back towards town for 30m,cross the road when you see a hotel, and up the left if the hotel is the hostel rd,we got lost so got a nights free acomodation!
