The place was fantastic. The beds were real, and real comfortable. Staff go out of their way to help. Lovely lounge and kitchen area. Location is fine. A real gem of a find in Japan and the price is fabulous. 10 out of 10 for me.The place was fantastic. The beds were real, and real comfortable. Staff go out of their way to help. If you want good location, this place can't be beat. Get a bicycle and you can ride everywhere in Kyoto - we enjoyed it so much we forgot to actually check out the sites. Staff super friendly and helpful. I remember reading other reviews complaining about the bread provided - it's complimentary, you don't have to eat it if you don't want to. I actually scoffed mine down with water first thing in the morning just to get me going. Would happily stay again. If you want good location, this place can't be beat. Very pleasant hostel in a great city. Highly recommended. Staff were very helpful with storing luggage and arranging another hostel as was booked for the following day, so I returned four days later to continue my exploration of Kyoto.Very pleasant hostel in a great city.
