Although it was a great location and it was clean, there is no common room to meet other and the lifts are very slow and busy.
This Hostel is just rooms, no common area or space to meet others. The location is great and rooms clean but the lifts are extremely slow and busy.
The location is in Tsim Hsa Tsui, which is great, but other than that, everyrhing was horrible. The building was dirty, the people in shops downstairs are scary and looks dangerous, offering you to buy stuffs. The lift was small and very slow. The staffs are ignorant. The room was ok, the bathroom was extra small
Overall we had a good stay here, the location is good as it is right next to the station but the overall feel of Chungking Mansions was not particularly safe and the hostel did not promote socialising with other travellers which would have been useful. Having said that, the room was clean, private and the housekeeper was lovely.
The Chungking mansion is a convenient cheap place to stay if you can't get any accommodation on the island. The rooms are very clean but rather small. You get what you pay for here. The staff were not very friendly or helpful. The worst thing about this place is the elevator, we were on the 15th floor and it was about a 15 minute wait for the elevator every time. Other than that if you're on a shoe string budget then it's going to be perfect!!
A really nice anc clean Hostel in a good Location with everything you need (including mineral water, good wifi, free coffee etc.) Only negative point are some staff members. Some people there are really nice and helpfull, but others dont even greet back or look at you when you ask something at the reception. Instead they just look into their computer.

Considering living expenses in HK this is the best (cheapest) option you can get. Great location, availability, and overall conditions make it the best choice for non-picky tourists. The only annoting thig is the elevator - takes ages to wait for it sometimes.
the room was 8 square meters including the bathroom ......really small for two peoples , the noisy of air condition air condition during the night,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the price is good
