We'd made a reservation for 2 nights but only stayed 1. No windows in the bedroom. Also there was no porch to sit outside. There were a lot of holes so plenty of huge insects could get inside. The first night we woke early because of one of those insects in our bed. The second day a bat was flying through the room. We expected a kitchen where we could cook ourselves a meal (as advertised) but there was no stove! We couldn't tell the staff any of this; they didn't speak a word English.

This is a great place to stay. It is a $3.00 taxi ride from central La Fortuna. Definitely worth it for the peace and quiet. A beautiful setting beneath the Arenal volcano.

The cabanas are located about a 30min walk from town however we found this more peaceful and relaxing. We didn't speak Spanish so found it difficult to communicate with the owners, however the son speaks English. Definitely get the breakfast for an extra $4 it was delicious and great value for money. Lots of room and also a kitchen to cook meals if you don't want to eat out. Located on a beautiful property with a short walk to a beautiful river! Would definitely stay here again.

Good location outside of town, but at walking distance to restaurants, banks, tour offices, the waterfall, etc. Beautifuly kept grounds, good oportunities to see lots of birds outside the reception. Exellent views of Arenal volcano when not hidden behind clouds. $4 breakfast was exellent and aboundant. Ask in advance for a cabina behind the owners house, they are further away from the road and the noisy, drunk neighbors at the tour office next door.

These cabins are on beautiful grounds in a great location a short distance from La Fortuna. You're not likely to find anything else as peaceful as this in La Fortuna,. Our cabin was pleasant and clean, with a balcony that faced the river. The owners were very helpful, and for an additional $4.00, they served a huge breakfast on the patio. They also served a breakfast of fruit to the birds, so we could watch them as we ate. We would definitely stay here again.

These cabins have a great location outside of La Fortuna and near the waterfall. The owners are very friendly and gave us a great restaurant recommendation! Breakfast was delicious as well, and definitely worth it at only $4 a person.

If should be clearer how rustic this place is. Bedroom had no windows- instead it was shutters that didn't ventilate or keep bugs out. It was probably more than 90F and without windows it was impossible to cool it down. There was a fridge, but it wasn't plugged in. Had I been aware, I would have expected and able to deal, or maybe wouldn't have booked there. Since I didn't know, it was an unpleasant surprise. The kind owners let me cancel and I went elsewhere. I still booked a tour thru them.
